We have been working on gathering updates on road conditions and power restoration efforts. We understand that there are a few roads still closed or nearly impassable due to snow or muddy conditions and we know that there are a few families still without power. Overnight temperatures will stay above freezing, so the sloppy roads will not freeze by morning. Some roads will be much too soft to drive with our buses in the morning. So, our plan is to start school at the regular time and in those areas that travel is extremely difficult, we are utilizing a few central pickup and drop-off sites. Those parents on those routes have been notified. Please understand that we do not want anyone to risk getting stranded, so if you feel that you or your children cannot make it to the pickup point or to town, please give us a call and we will excuse their absence. We will understand if you cannot meet the bus or make it to town in a safe manner. Just give us a call in the morning to let us know if your child will not be in school. We would appreciate it if you would help spread the word, especially to those that live in the country. For those still without power, we would love to provide a warm place and a warm meal to those students that can make it to school. I am really hoping this is the last adjustment to our schedule due to weather. Thank you for your understanding and patience and we hope to see as many students as is safely possible at our regular start time in the morning.

Due to road conditions, especially in the country, the re-freezing of slush overnight and the uncertainty as to when power may be restored, Sutton Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, March 20th. The building will be closed all day and no activities will be held.

Are you as tired of winter as I am? Less than 48 hours after an 80 degree day, blizzard conditions are in the forecast for tomorrow morning. Sutton Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19th. The building will be closed to all activities.

Kindergarten Round-Up 2025 Kindergarten Roundup for the Sutton Public Schools has been set for Friday, March 28th, 2025 If you are considering sending your son or daughter to Kindergarten during the 2025-2026 school year, please call the elementary office at 402-773-4423 ext 2. Information related to the round-up will be sent to you. Students are eligible if they reach the age of 5 by July 31, 2025. In addition, the Kindergarten entrance law states that students who will turn 6 before January 1, 2026, and are not yet enrolled in school, are required to enroll in school for the 2025-2026 school year. Kindergarten Round-Up is Friday, March 28 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. The following items are required before starting Kindergarten: Certified Birth Certificate – this is the one that comes from the state and not the hospital. Immunization Records Kindergarten Physical & Eye Exam – a form will be provided for you in your Kindergarten Round-Up packet that you may take with you to the doctor.

First track meet of the 2025 season is at the Doane Indoor in Crete. Field events start at 1pm and Running Events start at 3pm.
